2/26/2009 · Best Answer: It all depends on the position of the condensing boiler in relation to the point that will accept the condensate pipe. Floor standing usually have a condensate pump supplied within the boiler but in most cases wall mounted boilers can be installed …
Condensing Boilers. Condensing boilers have recently been introduced to the market to provide more efficient thermal capabilities. The basic system design is that the boiler is completely sealed as the air used during the combustion process is drawn in through the flue from outside. The created flue gases are not vented out.
It may seem odd to want to stop your boiler from doing what it was designed to do. However, this is a dilemma faced by some homeowners as they seek to find a way of getting their boiler to turn off. This issue can be equally confusing and inconvenient as it could cause your household to become too warm, wasting energy and impacting your energy ...

Is your boiler pressure too high? If your boiler is still working, you probably shouldn’t worry yourself too much – there likely isn’t anything wrong with the appliance at all, and you may be able to get the boiler water pressure down to recommended levels without breaking a sweat.
assessed four condensing boilers at the Peachtree Summit Federal Building heating plant; the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) assessed twenty-two condensing boilers distributed throughout five Denver Federal Center (DFC) facilities. Peachtree’s condensing boiler plant was monitored for approximately six months, from December to May.
Condensate from high efficiency boilers is very acidic. Can it be plumbed directly into the home's sanitary drain or does it have to be treated first? I was at a new home yesterday with 3 HTP high efficiency boilers being installed (500,000 btu each) and there is continuous condensate dumping from the units right into a sump well.
3/3/2018 · a winter tip. if your condensing boiler stops working before you call a plumber check the condensing waste pipe outside for ice if this becomes blocked with a plug of ice it will stop the boiler working just pour hot water on to free it and reset your boiler
What is a condensing boiler? What is a condensing boiler? As opposed to being a specific type or brand of boiler, the name ‘condensing boiler’ is rather in reference to the process, which includes condensing waste water vapour, in order to retain its latent heat.
How Condensing Boilers Work - Plumbing Tips ... The first thing you should know when comparing a condensing boiler to a standard conventional boiler is that the heat input is very much the same at ...
7/21/2019 · The customer said the old boiler heated the home “okay,” so you decide to match the old boiler’s size. Since the customer asked for an Alpine high efficiency condensing gas boiler, you review the product data sheet and discover that the closest Alpine models are 105,000 and 150,000 BTU/hr.
OK. I was talking about using CPVC at the boiler for DHW not hydronic water. I agree about the hydronic water temps. The DHW would only be as hot as boiler water when it came out of the DHW coil. I guess I'll just plumb with CPVC up to "near" the boiler, where my thermal traps begin.
I'm a homeowner in the midst of looking into a new boiler, and am getting a ton of good info here. Except the one thing I haven't been able to find yet is if there is anything in particular we should look out for with getting a new, more efficient boiler while keeping the old cast iron radiators.

For the past few decades, an increasingly popular space heating option is a system with a modulating condensing (mod-con) boiler. Because these boilers can potentially have a high efficiency (90-95% or higher), they are often promoted by state and utility subsidy programs.
In other words, condensing boilers help to drive even better boiler efficiency, making the fuel you’re burning to heat your home go further. According to the Energy Saving Trust, replacing an old G-rated boiler with a new high efficiency condensing boiler and improving your heating controls could save you as much as £235 a year.
Wall Mounted, Condensing Boiler. Ships Packaged. Ratings: 120K BTU Gross Input, 111K BTU DOE Capacity, 97K BTU Net IBR Capacity.
Condensing boilers can achieve greater efficiencies because they capture more heat from the exhaust gases than a conventional boiler. To do this, a condensing boiler has a larger heat exchange surface to enable it to transfer as much heat as possible from the boiler's burner into usable heat, thereby allowing less heat to escape as exhaust gases.
Furthermore, the only significant difference between a condensing boiler and a non-condensing boiler is the fact that the condensing boiler extracts more heat from the exhaust gases than a non-condensing-one does; it does not otherwise influence the design of the heating system. 4/17/2009 · Best Answer: A condensing boiler recovers heat from the exhaust gases before they are vented to the atmosphere; a normal one doesn't. This makes the condensing one more efficient, but also more complex, and there are other associated problems such as exhaust pluming due to …
These boilers are vented to the outside via a chimney flue or vent pipe. Traditional boilers typically operate at higher temperatures, which means that a portion of heat is vented to the outside during the combustion process. Depending upon its age and type, a traditional non-condensing boiler will typically be 80% to 85% efficient.
All of U.S. Boiler’s high efficiency heat exchangers are made of stainless steel for long service life and reliability. The water produced in the condensation process can be destructive to conventional boilers, but condensing boilers are designed to operate under these conditions. “Thermal shock,” or “boiler shock,” is a type of stress in boilers caused by heating, and can lead to serious, irreparable damage to the boiler, as well as danger to those around the unit.Thermal shock usually happens when cold water is sent back into a hot boiler system, or when a boiler is run at a heating capacity it wasn’t built for.
Its one of the only true condensing oil fired boilers out there, and Veissmann is one of the only ones that has a control strategy to make it condense. None of the boilers will condense unless they have good enough controls, and are piped in order to condense. With baseboards only it may not be worth the higher cost, to buy a condensing boiler.
